What you’re agreeing to
Version 2026-10-c. This is the plain-English version. The legal Terms say the same thing in more formal words.
E&OE: errors and omissions excepted. We have taken care to get this page right; if you spot a mistake, tell us at hello@1on1.fitness and we will correct it.
What it costs
Joining and being listed are free. Every new trainer gets 10 free credits to start, which covers the first new client.
You pay 10 credits per successful client connection. Seeing a brief is free, saying no is free, and if the client picks someone else you pay nothing.
You pay 1 credit when someone new books your class. Their later bookings are free. If a first booking is a no-show, you can ask for the credit back within 48 hours of the session, once per person.
Credit is prepaid in bundles: £10 for 10 credits, £25 for 30, or £50 for 75. It does not expire while your account is open. If you leave while 1on1.fitness carries on, you get no cash back for unused credit. If 1on1.fitness closes down, you get back the share of what you paid that matches your unused credit. For example, if you paid £25 for 30 credits and 15 of them are unused, you get £12.50 back. For Pro, you get back the unused part of the month you have paid for. The 10 free starter credits are never refunded.
Pro is £18.99 a month and includes every new client connection, so you do not pay 10 credits for each one. The 1 credit when someone new books your class applies on every plan, Pro included. While you have switched yourself to “full”, Pro is £4.99 a month. You can cancel any time from your dashboard.
We never take a share of what your clients pay you.
Checks before your profile goes live
We check your photo ID and your insurance. You also need either a recognised fitness qualification, or, if you do not have one, to be vetted personally by our operator.
You upload your documents after you join. They are kept private and never shown on your profile. They are seen only by our operator, who checks them, and by CGI Web Services, who run the site’s systems. Our operator is a personal trainer on the island; every time a document is opened, it is logged. We delete them when you ask us to, or 2 years after your last activity on the site.
Level 3, first aid and DBS checks show as badges on your profile once we have seen the evidence. Badges are optional and do not change your position in the results.
Until your checks pass, your profile is not live. Clients may see a tile with your name and area marked “Checks pending”, but they cannot contact you through it. Once they pass, your full profile goes live with a tick for each check. It never shows the documents.
How briefs reach you
A client picks a goal and an area, and chooses up to 3 trainers to send one brief to. If you are one of them, you get an email and the brief appears in your inbox.
You can say you would take the client, or decline. Declining is fine and costs nothing.
If you tick “I take online clients from off the island”, you may also get briefs for online sessions from clients who live outside the Isle of Man. [CHECK: adviser, clients who live outside the Isle of Man]
Responding to a brief
Clients see how long each trainer takes to accept or decline. Your response times also count towards the order trainers are shown in (see below).
If you have not accepted or declined after 24 hours, we send you a reminder, and we offer the client other trainers as well. A brief you leave unanswered counts against your response record, which is one of the things that decides the order trainers are shown in.
What you receive about a client, and what you may do with it
You see the client’s brief: their goal, rough area, when they can train, their budget, their experience and their message. Their exact address is never shared. You see the client’s first name only until they choose you.
Use what you receive only to respond to that client and arrange their training. Do not add them to mailing lists or pass their details on.
Reviews
Only clients who sent you a brief through the site can review you. We invite them 4 weeks after the brief.
You can reply publicly to any review. We may hold a review to check it before it appears, and we remove reviews that break our rules.
How the order of trainers is decided
Trainers are ordered by fit, distance, format, availability and how reliably they reply, in search results and on goal and town pages. Among the three best matches, Pro trainers are shown first. Clients see a “Pro” label on them and the line “Among the three best matches, Pro trainers are shown first.”
Within Pro, and within the free plan, trainers are ordered by how well they fit the client’s goal, how close they are, whether they offer the format the client wants, when they are available, and how reliably they reply. Pro changes the order only. Every trainer a client can contact has passed the same checks.
Steven Craine, who runs the site day to day, is a personal trainer on the island. He is not listed and does not receive briefs as a trainer would.
Pausing and leaving
You can pause your profile at any time, for example when you are full. Paused profiles receive no briefs. Unused credit is not paid back in cash when you leave (see What it costs).
You can leave at any time. Ask us and we delete your profile, your documents and your data, except records the law requires us to keep.
Changes to this agreement
If we change anything here, we email you 30 days before it takes effect. Once it takes effect, you need to accept the new version to stay listed and receive briefs. Until you do, you can still decline briefs, pause, switch to full, manage billing and run your classes.
