Leave your detailsWhat a good trainer does for this goal
A good trainer for weight loss does more than set workouts. They help you build a routine you can keep, teach you how to lift and move safely, and check in on your progress so you know what is working. Some trainers also talk through eating habits with you, and others will refer you on for detailed nutrition plans.
When you write your brief, tell us what you have tried before and what got in the way. Say where you would like to train, at a gym, at home or online, and which days and times suit you. If you have an injury, a condition or any health concerns, include them. A trainer needs this to keep your sessions safe, and you will only share what you choose to with the trainers you pick.
If you have any health concerns, check with your GP before starting a new exercise plan.
Common questions
Do I need to be fit before I start?
No. A good trainer will meet you where you are and build up your sessions gradually. Tell them honestly how active you have been recently so they can plan safely.
Will a trainer give me a diet plan?
It depends on the trainer. Some will talk through simple habits with you, but detailed meal plans are not always part of the service. Mention what support you want in your brief so you can choose someone who offers it.
Should I speak to a doctor before I start?
If you have a health condition, an injury or you have not exercised in a long time, check with your GP or physio first. Then tell your trainer what they advise so they can plan around it.
