Enquiries that arrive with the goal, area and budget filled in.
1on1.fitness matches people on the Isle of Man with personal trainers by goal. They send one clear brief to up to 3 trainers, and you decide whether to reply.
What a brief tells you
Every enquiry arrives as a structured brief: the client’s goal, rough area, when they can train, their budget, their experience and a note in their own words. You see all of it before you reply.
See an example brief- Goal
- Wedding in June, lose weight
- When
- Weekday evenings after 6, and Saturday mornings
- Budget
- £25 to £35 a session
- Experience
- Used a gym on and off, never had a trainer
- Note
- I'm getting married next June and want to feel fitter and lose about a stone before then. I've joined gyms before and drifted off after a few weeks, so I'd like someone who'll keep me on track. I have a dodgy left knee, nothing serious, but I avoid running.

Free to join. You pay when a client agrees to work with you.
- Joining and being listed are free. You get 10 free credits to start, which covers your first new client.
- You pay 10 credits per successful client connection. Seeing a brief is free, saying no is free, and if the client picks someone else you pay nothing.
- You pay 1 credit when someone new books your class. Their later bookings are free.
- No minimum term and no card details to join. We never take a share of what your clients pay you.
- Pro is £18.99 a month and includes every new client connection. The 1 credit for a new person booking your class applies on every plan.
Joining free. A client connection 10 credits. A new person in your class 1 credit.
How the order works
Trainers are ordered by fit to the client’s goal, distance, format, availability and how reliably they reply. Among the three best matches, Pro trainers are shown first, with a Pro label clients can see. Steven Craine, who runs the site day to day, is a trainer who is not listed and does not receive briefs as a trainer would.

Checked before you go live
Everyone gives us photo ID and insurance. You also need a recognised fitness qualification. If you do not have one, our operator, who is a personal trainer on the island, vets you personally. Clients see a tick for each check, plus a badge for Level 3, first aid and DBS where you have them, and nothing else from your documents.
